We value the importance of balance between work and family life and promote this philosophy throughout the company.Job summaryOur Construction Manager is responsible for the effective coordination and control of engineering works through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on Martinus Rail standards. This role is responsible for leading the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.Key job tasks and responsibilities• Use technical knowledge to provide advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project• Use technical knowledge to provide advice on best practice construction methods• Ensures the construction related aspects of the project meet or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality• Oversees the planning and coordination of activities of designated project• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel• Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required• Prepares project reports for management, client, or others as required• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems• Communicates and escalates risk and opportunity as required to best protect the interest of Martinus Rail• Ensures safety management system is adhered to and that these is a positive safety culture throughout the projectMinimum Skills and Qualification required• Professional and diplomatic, able to develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders including your peers, managers, contractors and clients• Proven ability to motivate and sustain teams to work toward common goals• Innovative, driven and action oriented – you consistently produce information at a fast pace• Well-honed and demonstrated planning, organisation and implementation skills• Ability to drive improvements and efficiencies through innovation and self-initiative• Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate across all mediums and engage people with different communication preference• Proven ability in supporting a superior, such as the Operations Manager, in client meetings and proactive in resolving client/engineering and management project issues as/when they arise• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence in using relevant software and devicesMinimum Experience Required• Minimum 10 years’ experience in track construction/engineering environment• Australian track construction experience desirable AUD Sydney 2000
