As Martinus looks to establish it's footprint within rail haulage, we're looking for a Bid Manager to lead the pursuits that will shape our next chapter — building the proposals and partnerships that win us long-term, profitable contracts.
As Bid Manager, you'll own the end-to-end bid lifecycle — from qualifying opportunities and shaping win strategies through to writing persuasive proposals and steering submissions across the line. You'll work closely with operations, commercial, and leadership teams to make sure every bid reflects Martinus at its best: compliant, competitive, and genuinely compelling to the customer.
What You'll Do
- Lead bids and tenders from opportunity qualification through to submission and post-bid review
- Run bid workshops to develop win strategies, competitive positioning, and clear value propositions
- Write high-quality, tailored proposal responses that speak directly to customer requirements
- Coordinate input from SMEs, operations, commercial, and leadership to align content, pricing, and risk
- Manage bid plans, timelines, risk registers, and CRM/bid tools to keep submissions on track
- Lead quality reviews to sharpen compliance, clarity, and competitiveness
- Manage tender portals, document control, and post-submission activities like clarifications and negotiations
- Build our proposal templates, content library, and processes so every future bid is stronger than the last
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' experience in a rail haulage environment, with a genuine understanding of what makes a successful partnership
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end bids, tenders, or complex proposals
- A track record of developing winning strategies and persuasive, customer-focused content
- Strong stakeholder management skills — you can coordinate a room and hit a deadline
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail
- Commercial acumen and comfort presenting to executive and customer audiences
- A tertiary qualification in business, communications, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience); formal training in proposal management or tendering is a plus
Why Martinus
- Play a genuinely high-impact role — your work directly drives our growth
- Join a close-knit, safety-focused team with deep rail industry expertise
- Real autonomy to build and improve how we bid, not just execute someone else's playbook
- Be part of a business that's scaling, with the opportunities that come with it
