We value the importance of balance between work and family life, and promote this philosophy throughout the company. Job summary:Our Construction Project Manager is accountable for the development and delivery of rail construction projects undertaken by Martinus Rail and its partners. The Construction Project Manager will participate in concept development and plan, schedule, manage and co-ordinate the project to ensure objectives and agreed specifications are achieved in accordance with the program, resource requirements, budgets, quality and safety standards and customer expectations. The Project Manager will monitor deliverable compliance of direct reports, and ensure the achievement of Project KRA’s.Key job tasks and responsibilities:Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parametersReviews project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projectEstablishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnelDirects and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budgetReviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as requiredPrepares project reports for management, client, or others as requiredConfers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problemsReviews the key areas of project design and programReviews and analyses key aspects of constructability / buildability with respect to design developmentCommunicates and escalates risk and opportunity as required to best protect the interests of the projectEnforces compliance with head contract provisions and conditions and Subcontract Agreements to protect the Company’s position financially and contractuallyIdentifies, assesses and prepares variations of the head contract, and presents these variations to the Construction Director/SBU DirectorConducts regular reviews of project budgets to ensure accurate revenue, cost flow and profit / loss forecastingOversees budget and ensure financial accountabilityResponsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfiedCoordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other agenciesEnsures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality, environmental and safety procedures are integratedEnsures that relevant Divisional Managers or Leads complete all outstanding defects as a matter of priorityPromotes a positive safety and environmental culture, in particular Martinus Rail’s commitment to achieve ‘Target Zero’, being no injuries or illnesses to people or incidents that adversely affect the environmentEnforces compliance with all relevant HSE policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements, in particular Rail Safety legislationEstablishes and maintains a harmonious Client / Customer relationship to assist project delivery and enhances Client satisfaction whilst protecting Martinus Rail and its interestsDetermines Clients’ needs through analysis of documentation / contract; liaising with Client in person; expectations on previous jobs – physical, financial, economic, personalEvaluates the importance of the project in the Clients’ business and suggests ways the Client can benefit from the construction phase Minimum Skills and Qualification required:Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholdersDemonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national in scopeExcellent organisational skills with demonstrated ability to oversee the execution of projects on time and on budgetStrategic mind and proven ability to drive and execute strategic changeStrong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence in using relevant software and devicesMinimum Experience Required: Minimum 10 years’ experience in track construction/engineering environmentAustralian track construction experience desirable AUD Perth 6000
