About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Martinus US team. This role can be based anywhere in the US. You'll play a key role in preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for rail infrastructure and haulage projects, supporting the business through tender and pre-construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for rail infrastructure and construction projects, from concept through to tender submission
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to develop accurate quantity take-offs
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring competitive and reliable pricing
  • Identify project risks, exclusions, and assumptions, and incorporate these into estimates
  • Collaborate with project delivery, engineering, and business development teams to develop winning bids
  • Contribute to tender documentation, including methodology, program, and pricing schedules
  • Maintain and build a database of historical costs and productivity rates to inform future estimates
  • Support post-tender clarifications and contract negotiations as required

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Proven estimating experience within rail, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of US rail industry standards, codes, and contracting practices highly regarded
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with internal teams, clients, and suppliers
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel as required to support projects and teams across the US
