Martinus are currently seeking a Senior Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Adviser for our Inland Rail – Albury to Illabo (A2I) project, based out of Wagga. This role will play a pivotal part in delivering high-level communication and engagement services for the project as will as delivering expert advice, developing and implementing communication strategies, and managing key stakeholder relationships to ensure the successful delivery of this critical infrastructure project.
Duties will include
Lead the development and execution of Communication Engagement Plans aligned with project milestones
Provide strategic advice to senior leaders, project managers, and cross-functional teams.
Identify, engage, and manage relationships with landowners, leaseholders, tenants, occupiers, and other affected stakeholders.
Liaise with authorities and external partners to secure permissions and approvals related to land access and infrastructure works.
Manage sensitive stakeholder issues with professionalism and responsiveness, including on-call 24/7 response as required.
Draft construction notifications for planned and unplanned works.
Develop clear, engaging communication materials including newsletters, brochures, presentations, reports, and digital content.
Support media relations, including preparing responses to inquiries and assisting with issue and crisis management.
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior CSE staff.
Required Experience:
Extensive experience in major infrastructure or construction projects, preferably within government or public-private partnership environments.
Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in sensitive or high-impact environments.
Strong writing, editing, reporting and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in tools such as Consultation Manager and Microsoft Office Suite.
A commitment to collaboration, transparency, and ethical engagement.
About A2I
The Inland Rail Program is a 1700km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges.
Works in the Albury to Illabo section involve extensive enhancements to specific sites across the 185km of existing track running from Albury to Illabo. These enhancements will provide the necessary vertical and horizontal clearance along the existing 'Main South Line' corridor to support the safe running of double-stacked freight trains up to 1,800m long and 6.5m high.
